Fair Organ Restoration Ethics
By Jerry F. Bacon

I agree with Eliyahu Shahar; the pipe organ industry has this same
problem. Give me the pneumatic mechanism any time, that I know about.
Also, the posting by Adam Ramet reminded me that there was a Seeburg
"H" discovered in a movie theater in a small town in Texas. This
instrument was _cut down_ in order to fit under the screen (so I was
told), and that must have been done many years ago, perhaps when it
was moved to the theater in 1919 from the local saloon when Prohibition
came into being. I understand it is restored back to normal now.

Regards, Jerry F. Bacon
