Lador Musical Tree Stand
By Jeffrey E. Lee

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

I have a tree stand that seems to be the same as the one described by
David Bisol in the posting on 11/13/1997. Ours has all the teeth to
the comb and is in pretty good shape. The wooden base has a thin 3"
sliver that has been glued and tacked back into place. The electrical
cord was dangerously frayed and replaced with a newer cord.

It has the pinecone tree holder and the metal base has only three small
dents. One is on the upper surface opposite the crank. The second is
near where the metal housing meets the wooden base about an inch to the
counterclockwise direction. The third is about two inches from the
on-off switch for the mechanism in the clockwise direction.

The pinecone tree holder has a bit of rust and has been painted silver.
I do not know if this is original or done later. It has brass brushings
to maintain contact with the light socket with plug screw-in adapter
for lighting a tree. It has two controls for the music box. One
controls the entire rotation and the second disengages the rotation of
the brass wheel that contacts the comb.

Does anyone have an idea of age and value?
