Hi Group,  I'm having a bit of trouble with a mid-1920's Cable Piano
Company Euphona Inner-Player Piano.  I purchased this piano about three
weeks ago, and while it plays beautifully, I'm having one major issue.

I removed the lower section today to clean out the piano and blow out
all the garbage in the bottom.  I disassembled the slide valves on the
lower section to make sure everything was okay.  I found a small wooden
disc that had fallen off of the mid-size pneumatic that sits on top of
the lower section in-between the cut-off valve and tempo control valves.
The pneumatic has a set screw on top of it (that this disc attaches to
on the inside, which pushes on a lever closing a valve.

I'm new to these things so I'm not exactly sure what it's called, but
is a pneumatic that is above the bellows mounted in between the cut-off
valve and Tempo valves.  It has a wire spring on it that is in the shape
of a "V" on it's side.  I reattached the wooden disc to the set screw.

When the piano is turned on, the pneumatic pulls all the way in and the
tempo is at a crawl and doesn't change with the movement of the tempo
and cut-off valves.  However, if I gently push the pneumatic open with
my hand, the music will take off all the way to full-tempo.

I've tried adding tension to the spring, but it doesn't seem to be
enough.  It's almost like something isn't set right elsewhere, though
I've tried for hours to calibrate the cut-off and tempo valves.

What's the problem here?  Anyone have an idea?  Please let me know.

Thanks for any help in advance.  I really love this piano and want to
see it operating correctly.  In the meantime, I've (shudder) installed
a small piece of metal that prevents the pneumatic from completely
closing so that I can at least enjoy some music at tempo 70 or below.
(It won't go any higher without pushing the pneumatic open.)  But I
want to get this back to factory original.
