Dear Readers,

On Sunday I started testing a new mail-sending program by sending a
message announcing a "Survey."  The message contained a link to the MMD
website that allowed me to track who had received the message.  The 694
unique confirmations I have received already in just 48 hours lead me to
believe that the new mail-sending program is reliable.

I am going to start using the new program to send the Mechanical Music
Digest beginning with the digest which follows this one.  If you stop
receiving digests after this one, please send an email to:

    rollreq@foxtail.com

to let us know that something bad has happened.
