I have four 41-tine Thorens music boxes .  They are all thirty to
forty years old.  On all four music box movements the plastic gear
that drives the air vane has developed a crack.  The result is the
tunes are all accompanied with a loud tick that happens each time the
plastic gear crack exits the worm gear (about three ticks per second).

I cannot think of a way to stop the tick other than to replace the
plastic gear.  Does someone make replacement plastic gears?  Any
suggestions?
