Double Comb Symphonion Disc Musical Box
By Pat Nelson

Hello all, I have inherited a lovely old Symphonion music box and
am trying to find out more about it. After finding and searching
this Digest, I got Bowers' Encyclopedia from the library, but am
still very puzzled.

The discs for my music box are 14-3/4 inches in diameter, and all
numbers start with "10", e.g., "10042". It is double comb, with 68
teeth per side. It most resembles model 25A, but doesn't have brass
rings on the sides, and has a brass plate over the music disc
mechanism.

I'm not good at identifying wood, but I think it is mostly walnut,
with an inlay on the top. It is on what I think is an oak stand, which
holds maybe 55 discs. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thank you,
Pat Nelson
