Mechanical Music in the Movies
By Bruce Pier

One film to watch for is "The Wagons Roll at Night". This
above-average carny flick stars Humphrey Bogart, Sylvia Sidney, Eddie
Albert, and Joan Leslie. You get to see and hear a Tangley working
a bally, and a Parker "Carry-Us-All" featuring the music of a very
strong playing, in-tune Wurlitzer 153. The songs played by the
Wurlitzer are "You Can't Stop Me From Dreaming" and "I Love to Ride
the Ponies (on the Merry-go-round)".
