I did purchase an Ampico grand a number of years ago and the owner
stated that we could pick up the piano but I would have to pick up
the rolls at a later date because she had to go through them and remove
her jewelry from the spools.  So now I will occasionally shake a used
roll before putting it on the shelf...  Nothing yet!

When purchasing another Ampico, the owner mentioned that she kept her
valuables in the roll well of the drawer; "A burglar would never think
of looking there!"
