QRS "Maple Leaf Rag" Recut Rolls
By Marc Goodman

Hi, Here is some interesting news about "Maple Leaf Rag".

The Connorized "Maple Leaf Rag" was remastered some time back by QRS,
for inclusion in the "Century Collection". It is a much more accurate
reproduction of the original Connorized roll, though QRS stepping and
Connorized stepping are not the same. At any rate, this remastered
version was used for Century Collection roll XP481-C, "The 1900
Decade," which _also_ contains a newly-remastered version of Eubie
Blake's "Charleston Rag" from the Ampico roll (again, Ampico and
QRS stepping are not the same.) This XP is still available. (The
"Charleston Rag" roll that had been reissued previously, Q-1004, had
also suffered from inaccuracies.)

QRS now uses the newly-remastered, more accurate versions for both 9725
and Q-1004 that are available.

Best, Marc Goodman
