Memories of Hathaway and Bowers
By Bonnie Tekstra

Recently Dave Bowers forwarded me a couple of messages from the
MMDigest that had mentioned my name. I am very flattered that
I am remembered after all of these years.

I have the fondest of memories both working with Hathaway and Bowers
and American International Galleries. Dave, Terry and I do keep
in touch and they seem like family to me.

I started to work at Hathaway and Bowers in 1968, a very long time ago.
My very favorite instrument was the Weber Maesto, which I played often
when showing customers around the showroom. At AIG it was the Taj Mahal
that I loved to play. Then it wasn't just customers that came to hear
the Taj Mahal, but tourists, so we would play it on the hour.

Since the close of AIG I have worked in the hotel/resort industry and
now I am retired. I live in North County San Diego and I keep very
busy, especially with my four grandchildren ages 10, 9, 7 and 5.

I give a warm hello to all of the collectors that I met in the past,
and to those hearing about me that I have never met I say "Happy
Collecting!"

Sincerely,
Bonnie Tekstra
