Hi all,  In my collection I arrange rolls the following way and it
seems to work, unless I forget who the composer was in the classical
rolls.

For all popular songs, I simply arrange them alphabetically by song
title.  For example: "All alone", "All By Myself", "By the Sea", etc.

An exception is when the songs are show tunes.  For all musical shows,
such as "Annie Get Your Gun", "My Fair Lady", etc., I arrange the
shows alphabetically and under each musical show I then arrange the
songs alphabetically by song title.

For instance, under "Annie Get Your Gun" I would arrange the titles for
this show:

  "Anything You Can Do", "(the) Girl That I Marry" (in the case of
  a title beginning with "the" I usually use the next word), "My
  Defenses Are Down", "There's No Business Like Show Business",
  "You Can't Get a Man With a Gun"

For Classical music I arrange them as follows

1. Alphabetically by composer

2. Under composer, I arrange the compositions alphabetically.

3. When I encounter concertos, etudes, rhapsodies, scherzos, symphonies
and the like, I arrange these numerically, even though some are more
famously known by titles.  For example, Beethoven's "Eroica Symphony"
would be listed after "Symphony No. 2" as it is "Symphony No. 3".

It works just fine for me.  I also have friends who simply arrange
their Ampico rolls all numerically.  I find that method would be hard
as you have to go get the catalog and look up the song or title and
find the number.
