"Antheil's Legacy" in New York City 7 June 2008
By Richard Friedman

As the collaboration of Hedy Lamarr and George Antheil has been a topic
of discussion on MMD, I thought the following might be of interest.

"Antheil's Legacy" [at] 3-Legged Dog Art & Technology Center,
80 Greenwich St (at Rector St); Tickets $25-$100
Description: A 25-piece automated orchestra performs notorious
"bad boy" composer George Antheil's Ballet Mécanique in conjunction
with a film by Fernand Léger and Dudley Murphy. The concert follows
a benefit performance of "Frequency Hopping", an Elyse Singer play
concerning a 1940 collaboration between Antheil and Hedy Lamarr on
  a secret communication system.

The play, but not the concert, runs through June 29th, and I have
the clipping of the New York Times review if you'd like me to mail to
anybody for scanning. I haven't seen the play myself, and living some
5 hours north of Manhattan I probably won't get the opportunity, but
perhaps there is an MMD reader closer to the action who will want to
attend.
