I recently installed a Pianocorder system in a piano and everything
went well until I tried to use a MC-2 MIDI-to-Pianocorder Interface
from Electric Orchestras in order to play MIDI files on the Pianocorder.
It seemed to work correctly for a day or two, then it stopped playing
MIDI files and something messed up the sustain pedal.

The system still plays from cassettes but the sustain pedal is now 180
degrees out of phase.  When the tape calls for pedal off the solenoid
activates the sustain.  When the tape calls for pedal on, the solenoid
releases the pedal.  I have removed the MC-2 and turned the Pianocorder
on and off many times but the pedal continues to be out of phase.

I don't know whether the Pianocorder messed up the MC-2, or vice-versa,
or it was just coincidence, but I hesitate to swap out parts  for fear
something will ruin the new part.  Could any signal through the MIDI
cable from my laptop have done this?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to remedy this?  Does anyone
repair Pianocorder boards?  Does anyone repair the Electric Orchestras
MC-2?
