In my posting yesterday, I cited the wrong patent for Charles V.
Jameson's unit block invention, because I Googled carelessly in my rush
to get into print. 

That concept is actually embodied in his patent 1367263, filed May 24,
1918, granted Feb. 1, 1921.  My embarrassed thanks to my friend and
fellow Rochesterian Alan Mueller for setting the record straight.
