Restoring Wurlitzer Band Organ Artwork
By Jim Quashnock

I have removed the heavy top coat of paint from a very nice, very
complete Wurlitzer 105, serial number 4096. I carefully removed the
paint down to the original finish, including artwork. None of this
original paint is in good enough condition to use as is, but enough is
there that I was able to match the paint colors and get fairly clean
photographs of the artwork.

My question is, should I try to preserve this original artwork, or
is my documentation enough? If the former, I could probably top coat
everything with a water base clear coat, then apply the enamel on top
of that. If the latter, I'll just sand every thing smooth and repaint.
I have photographed, color corrected, and scaled to size all of the
original findings.
