For me, one of the advantages of the present MMD format is that it
is _not_ fragmented.  That is, I do not have to chase to this or that
sub-forum or special page to get an overview of what is happening in
the world of mechanical music.

Sure, there are advantages to bringing together contributions on a
given topic.  But this is partly accomplished by the care taken in
editing the MMD to keep all contributions on a given topic together
by using the same subject line on them all.  Then when archived, the
contributions do form a thread which can easily be followed there.

I don't have the time or the interest to chase through the foolishness
that is Facebook to find what I want to know.   MMD suits my needs just
fine.
