FS: Remnants of a Huge Musical Box Collection
By Mark Singleton

Dear all, I have received a call this morning from an elderly
acquaintance who, now living the life of a virtual recluse and due
to failing health, he has asked me if I can perhaps help with the
disposal of the remains of his once huge collection of automatons,
disc and cylinder musical boxes.

Apart from a handful of pieces, the bulk of the remnants are
basket cases of machines and cases that are a commination of restorable
projects _or_ source of parts. There is enough stuff in this veritable
"elephant's graveyard" to fill a mart like Ruedesheim three times over!

I do not have time nor inclination to list and catalogue what's
there _but_ if there is an elusive part you are short of to finish
a restoration, then I am more than happy to sift through. If we are
lucky in retrieving your needle from this haystack, the nominal price
of the part plus postage will go to the owner, but I would expect
a 10% donation to Jody & Robbie's fundraising to help keep this MMD
forum going.

Of interest to fans of giant disc boxes, there is a complete 26-inch
Monopol with a huge motor and lyre bedplate.

Regards,

Mark Singleton
