Seek Singing Bird Box Specialist in UK
By Troy Duncan

I sold a wonderful antique singing bird box to a retired physician
in the UK; I am based in the USA. Unfortunately, UK customs opened
the box during inspection and disregarded my note explaining "never
manually open or close the top lid with your fingers." As such,
the bird and lid no longer rise as they should when sliding the front
on/off lever to the right.

The lid is currently and properly closed and sits flush with the case.
This is a straightforward adjustment for the competent restorer and
a rather common issue with singing bird boxes when they have been
improperly played with by a knucklehead.

I am looking for a competent UK-based individual that regularly works
on singing bird boxes so my client may have this simple adjustment
performed in the UK rather than shipping the piece back to me to
perform the adjustment. My client lives in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

Kind regards,

Troy Duncan
