I was deeply saddened to read of the passing of Don Rand.  Though
I met him only once, he had a deep impact on my life and I will never
forget his advice and hospitality.

At the time I met him, he had a beautiful Victorian mansion in the
worst part of Los Angeles.  It was filled with music and instruments.
Shortly after that, he sold the house and moved to the East Coast.
