Art Glass & Repairing Book Music
By Bob Oppenheim

There are two subjects which I do not remember seeing discussed on
the Digest. Perhaps I have overlooked them, but here they are for
what it is worth.

1. There has been a great deal of published information on cutting,
duplicating and repairing of paper rolls. Nothing can I remember
seeing with respect to repairing folding book music. How does one
make reliable repairs to hinges or broken out sections, for example?
What materials and techniques are acceptable?

2. The other subject is art ("stained") glass windows used in numerous
coin pianos. Was it the décor of the era, or some other factors that
prompted many manufacturers to include these in the instrument cases?
Generally, we associate this type of art with churches and very elegant
homes. Why mechanical music?

Just wondering.
