Cleaning Kimball Model D Player Transmission
By John Dustin

I'd like to clean and lubricate the transmission gears on a Kimball
model D (circa 1976) and wondered if anyone has posted the proper
sequence for removal, etc. One pictorial shows a model F transmission
opened for cleaning and gear replacement, but I'm hoping to learn about
the model D, which has a different setup. Can just the motor and
transmission be removed, leaving the spindles, nylon gears and chain
alone? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
