Hmmm.  Many years ago, I soaked a roll with a heavy spray of 3M
Scotchgard, just to see if it would revitalize the paper.  I was told
that this spray is actually plastic.  Now, I don't remember checking
the roll to see if it worked.  Maybe it did, and I just forgot what
I had done.
