Value of Unrestored Paillard Musical Box
By Don Mayer

Hello, A friend of mine has an unrestored music box that she would like
me to find a value for. As she will be buying it from the estate, the
most relevant pricing I can think of would be auction prices of similar
boxes.

I have photos of the box and can say that it has a tune card by George
Bendon, is likely Paillard with 6 bells and drum, 10 tunes on a 15-inch
by 2.25-inch cylinder. The box is 27.5 inches long by 12.5 inches deep
by 9.25 inches high. There is a presentation plaque on the front dated
1894. It has one broken tooth and needs a little servicing otherwise.

I have spent quite a little while looking through past auctions at
Bonhams, Skinner, and Stanton's to no avail. Might you be able to
point me in a more fruitful direction? Any opinions on the value of
this unrestored box would be _most_ helpful.

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.
