Seek Amphion Upside-down Unit Valves
By David Opppenheim

About 30 years ago I restored a Hobart M. Cable player for a client.
It contains the single upside-down valve units. At that time,
I installed new leather pouches in the Amphion unit valves. As I
remember, the pouch leather came from PPCo.

Recently, the same customer contacted me and asked me to check out
the piano as it was not playing anymore. After a thorough examination
of the player, I determined that all the pouches had dry rotted and
made the piano useless.

I cringe at the thought of having to split open again these unit
valves to put in new pouches, so I wondered if anyone out there had
a complete set of unrestored upside-down Amphion unit valves that
they might be willing to part with. The lady really misses being
able to operate the player and I told her that I would see what
I could do. Thanks.
