Aging Impacts Mechanical Music Maintenance Field
By John Buscemi

Matthew, you are _so_ right regarding qualified technicians. It's
not just for band organs but the same is true with people who can
competently work on reproducing and regular player pianos.

I am too old now to learn the craft. When I was in high school back
in the early '60s I would have loved to be instructed in the mysteries
of mechanical musical instruments. We had a player man who serviced
our player then. He did show me how to recover pneumatics and bellows,
but then he died.

I do hope somebody comes along and starts a program in one of the piano
technicians' schools. That would be a start.
