Greg, sorry you are having problems with your Violano.  I have had mine
for over 35 years and have had no major problems.  Mine was thoroughly
gone over by Terry Haughawout when I first purchased it; it is over 95%
original.  I have been told by Terry, and many others that have Mills
Violanos, that they are easier to maintain than nickelodeons.  I would
think the person who restored yours would back up his workmanship.

I do have a couple of suggestions.  Perhaps someone at the Morris Museum
in Morristown, New Jersey, could recommend someone who helps maintain
the one in the museum.  The museum phone number is 1-973-971-3700.

Or give Terry Haughawout a call in Ohio: work 1-419-454-3363, cell
1-419-348-1122.  He is considered one of the best if not the best on
restorations of the Violanos.  He does travel all over the U.S. and
other countries to work on these.  I do hope you get yours working and
I am quite sure you will enjoy it once it is working properly.
