[ Ref. 170207 MMDigest, Extra Holes in Ampico B Tracker Bar ]

Hi all,  This looks like the 1928 Welte Original tracker bar that was
in a piano I had at one time.  The extra holes were to atmosphere to
minimize tracker bar friction, and not to increase but to _decrease_
the drag on the roll motor.

A picture of the entire tracker bar might show either this fact or that
this concept was used by Ampico after the failure of Welte or after
Aeolian-American purchased the remains of Welte.

I currently have a Charles M. Stieff Welte.
