Lead Tubing Is Crushed Behind the Spool Box
By John Grant

Hoo, boy!! Okay, I'll start. Basically, you should _not_ waste
any time or money trying to resurrect this lead tubing. There is
no (economical) way to return it to functionality.

1) Bite the bullet, remove it to hazardous waste, and replace
it with neoprene tubing. Two sources that come to mind are
John Tuttle http://www.player-care.com/ and Dorothy Taylor, email
hossks2003@yahoo.com.geentroep [delete ".geentroep" to reply].

At one time Dorothy had a large quantity of various rebuilding
supplies that had been amassed by her now-deceased husband.
I particularly like the tracker bar tubing she offered, having the
ideal combination of size and wall-thickness. I don't know what
she currently may have "in stock".

2) Buy some steel-toe shoes and _always_ wear them when moving pianos.

3) Get _plenty_ of help when moving pianos. Use proper conveyances.
You didn't say what type of truck it was, but "pick-up" style trucks
are particularly ill-suited for this task. If you _must_ use one,
have plenty of strong straps, put minimum 1/2" thick plywood over the
bed if it is "ribbed", and drive _v e r y s l o w l y._
