88 vs. 82-Note Rolls: Hybrid Player Question
By Luke Myers

I have a question for everyone. How many notes/pneumatics can be
removed from a player action before the roll starts missing notes?
Also, how many notes are actually sounded on a normal 88- or 82-note
roll?

I am on a hybrid player piano project right now, and it looks like
I will be reducing the number of pneumatics on the stack, from 80 to
71, unless I can find some working unit pneumatics to replace the dead
ones. Can I still get passable music with 71 notes (5 more notes taken
from the bass and 4 notes from the treble)?
