The Best Sounding Artizan Band Organ On Display
By Art Thompson

Hello Robbie, I have been lurking on the forum now for close to 15
years, my last post being in the early 2000s. Much has happened since
then. I now live in a rural village in interior Alaska and, to my
knowledge, I have the only band organ in the state, a Wurlitzer 145-B.

I had to comment on the Artizan at the C.W. Parker Museum. You are
correct, the first song sounds identical to the Style 150 arrangement
I have.

I was rather struck by the Trumpets -- they are quite bright and
assertive and if I didn't know differently I would have thought they
were brass. The tuning is (unusually) good as well. It is refreshing
to hear an organ playing in public that doesn't hurt your teeth to
listen to.

Kudos to whoever maintains this instrument: it plays excellently, and
has a unique and captivating sound.

Art Thompson,
Nenana, Alaska
