I have enjoyed the discussion by several people on the list about
how an organ presents itself.  Noel Burndahi mentioned that "pitch"
can also make a difference.

I took my 31/86 MIDI-controlled organ to Craig Smith in Upstate New
York to help me get it tuned and help me with some other issues.  We
used a MIDI keyboard to play the organ so that we could test each pipe
and tune it.  That's when we discovered that the pipes I used are all
about four semi-tones low.  In other words "C" expresses itself as
"A-flat".

It really didn't make any difference to me at the time and playing
alone the organ sounds fine, but I am also a musician and play with two
local jazz combos or ensembles.  We decided to try to do a piece where
we played with the organ.  That turned out to be almost impossible for
the B-flat instruments to find a fingering that they could transpose to.

I still think it would be fun to add a Dixieland sound to "Beer Barrel
Polka" and a number of stride tunes on the organ.
