Copper Colored Regina 15-1/2" Discs
By Nancy Fratti

Regarding the copper plated Regina discs [190117 MMDigest], there
are some that are original and the new Porter reproduction discs
are also copper plated. The original copper plated discs have
a more 'muted' color -- they're not bright, shiny plating as in
the repros.

Many, but not all, of the original copper discs were in the later
series of numbers (10000+) and have the tune title in an arc on
the top part of the disc. The Porter reproduction discs have the
titles stenciled in the blank spot at 3 o'clock on the disc. Most,
if not all, of Porter's discs have his company name and address
at 6 o'clock.

I haven't personally seen an 'old' Porter repro disc, so I can't
advise just how they look now. If you'd like to send me a picture
of the discs you're questioning, I'd be happy to tell you whether
I think they're original or reproduction.

Happy Winter from snowy Canastota!
