Replacement Coin Piano Motor Overheats
By Jase Haysom

A motor such as the Dayton 3M008 used in a axial fan requires only
minimal starting torque. Contrast with, say, a motor that powers an
air compressor, which may require a high starting torque to deal with
the first compression stroke. The starting torque is determined by
the design of the motor.

Perhaps because of low starting torque the Dayton 3M008 requires
a nudge to start the complex mechanism of the player in motion.
