Fellow Ampico lovers: I now have the list of titles of early
Stoddard-Ampico rolls that are becoming available as a set of recuts
by Tim Baxter of Meliora Music Rolls in Atlanta. These new rolls
will be made from scans provided by Michael Swanson. They have not
been available as recuts in many years, and the original rolls are
fairly elusive and scarce (and try playing and rewinding an original
one if you can find it!).
This is a fantastic opportunity to hear the Ampico rolls that our
great- (and in some cases great-great-) grandparents were playing
on their pianos more than 100 years ago. Get them while the punches
are hot!
The full set of 10 rolls will cost $250.00, including postage via
USPS Media Mail to the 48 contiguous United States. That comes to
$25.00 per roll, including the shipping. Payment will be made via
PayPal (friends and family, please), and in two installments: $150
to reserve your set, and the remaining $100 to be paid when the rolls
are punched, labeled, and ready for shipping.
