I was saddened to learn that Julio Gosdinski, operator of the Griffith
Park Carousel had passed away at the young age of just 49.  Although
I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, I had made several trips down
to Los Angeles in the 1980s to hear and record the music rolls playing
on the Stinson band organ.

Having viewed the videos posted on MMD depicting Julio's career on the
carousel, I did not recognize him.  I remember Julio as being rather
on the heavy side.  He always made me feel welcome whenever I rode the
carousel.  Well, it goes without saying that 40 years can certainly
make a difference on one's appearance.

Julio Gosdinski will be missed by many who had the good fortune to have
met him.
