I thought this group should now about the passing of ragtime and
music historian, Dave Jasen. I understand that he died on Wednesday,
November 2nd, 2022.

Dave was a tireless promoter, writer and producer of ragtime related
media including books, record series (for Folkways), music folios,
articles and talks. One of his most notable books, "Rags and Ragtime"
(authored with collector Trebor Tichenor), was one of the first that
was part rollography. This book chronicled so much of the ragtime that
occurred only on piano rolls.

His legacy was as large as his personality.
