Motora Turbine Suction Pump
By Patrick Boeckstijns

Hi, Just wondering: My 1921 Hayes-made Steck peda [pedal electric
player piano] has the Motora pump. I assumed these were only installed
in British piano's, but I see the Motora was produced in Chicago USA
and runs on 110 V.

Does anyone knows when and in which pianos the Motora was installed?
Quality-wise, how does this turbine type pump compare to the other
bellows pumps (life span, noise, power, etc.)?

From an earlier post I understood that the expression box in my Peda is
screwed together rather than glued together. I haven't touched it yet
so I couldn't tell, but if this is the case I guess that's good news
since I won't have to "break" it open. Right?

Regards,

Patrick Boeckstijns
