I am currently rebuilding an Ampico Symphonique.  Even though most
of the components in the system are typical of the A model Ampico,
the tracking mechanism is more like that in the B model.  My guess
would be that a hose has come loose in the right hand side of the
drawer.

You say the tracking ears do not move.  With no roll on the tracker
bar, the ears on this model should rest at the inward side of the
opening.  When a roll is inserted it should move both ears to a
position about midway of their openings.  If this doesn't happen,
then something is stuck.
