I recently had an encounter with my first PianoDisc player system.
The piano was a fine old Kurtzman upright, with nicely-refinished oak
case.  I noticed the sliding doors in the top and the usual door in the
bottom for the pump pedals.  "Oh, a nice player," I thought to myself.
Upon trying to open the doors I found them fastened shut.

The pianos owner proudly announced that the old foot-powered player
system had been removed and a brand new PianoDisc player had been
installed, and a couple of notes were not sounding and proceeded to
play "something" that depressed _some_ of the keys.  There were missing
notes, blocking notes and poor performance overall.  The owner of the
piano thought it sounded wonderful, and was quite proud of it, and I
had to be very careful not to hurt any feelings or spoil the illusion.

I looked to see if I could make any adjustments to make it play
somewhat better.  I found a bank of magnets under the keyboard, that
when pressed upward, would sound every other note.  Obviously there was
another bank of magnets somewhere, but not in view.  I could not find
any place to adjust the lost motion, and there was plenty of it in
various degrees.  Obviously the loudspeakers were part of the player
system and were wired into it, but were not sounding (thankfully).

Can anyone tell me how to adjust this system?
