The Big "T" in "WurliTzer"
By Dave Bowers

Farny Wurlitzer said the large "T" as in the logotype "WurliTzer"
was added by someone who set up an advertisement and thought it was
cute. It was decided to retain it. Probably, a review of Wurlitzer
printed material could pinpoint the year it was first used.

In 1916 (a bit after the "WurliTzer" use) the Philadelphia Mint
produced pattern half dollars with a stylized big "T" in "LiberTy".
