Hide Glue & Fish Glue
By Jack Hardman

Howard Jensen asked about fish glue vs. the hot glue pot. We
releathered 38 ranks of Wurlitzer here a few years ago. About half
was done using hot glue. When we ran out of hot glue, Bob Arndt
suggested using fish glue instead, and to encourage me to try it
he sent along a small bottle. I liked it better, and found its
convenience a distinct advantage.

We did the balance of the job using Arndt's Fish Glue. A lot has
to do with what you are used to, and just plain personal preference.
It is certainly a viable alternative to hot glue. I recommend it,
and I don't miss the old glue pot or the preparation time to use it.
I don't know about liquid hide glue. Never used it.
